Your data is not training data
Alit does not use your documents, prompts, memos or other client materials to train or fine-tune any AI model, ours or anyone else’s.
Where we study how the product is used, we look only at anonymised, aggregated patterns, such as which standards are cited most often, and never at client content.
Encryption and infrastructure
Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest. The service runs on established cloud infrastructure, and access to production systems is limited to the people who need it.
Independent assurance
We have completed a SOC 2 readiness assessment and used its findings to strengthen the platform’s controls. A formal SOC 2 audit is the next step.
Access inside your firm
Accounts are created by invitation only, and there is no public sign-up. Each firm works in its own isolated workspace, and roles separate the people who prepare work from the people who approve it.
Our own access
Our internal administration tools show usage and account information only. They do not display your documents, scenarios, positions or memos.
AI model providers
Alit sends the minimum context needed for each step to carefully selected AI model providers, under commercial terms that do not allow your data to be used to train their models.
Retention and deletion
Uploaded documents and outputs are kept for the life of your account and deleted within 30 days of account closure, or sooner on request. Account details are kept for twelve months after closure.
Sub-processors and transfers
We use a small number of sub-processors for hosting, storage, authentication and AI processing. The current list is available on request.
Where personal data leaves the United Kingdom, we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Standard Contractual Clauses.
Professional responsibility
Alit is an AI system. Every output is a draft for review by a qualified professional, and exported memos identify themselves as AI-assisted in their file metadata. Responsibility for any position taken stays with the professional who approves it.
